| While I was doing collages I accidentally invented "transfers", in which I take an image on paper and adhere it to an already painted canvas. I then use a toothbrush or other tools to slowly and carefully remove the paper until only the ink remains. Each transfer is unique, and the image left behind is then incorporated into a larger painting. I developed a line of transfers I call Postcard Paintings. I photograph different images and use my technique to place them on textured fabric backed by wood. Most Postcard Paintings have an individual postal stamp incorporated into the picture. |
